Morning: Monte Berico

According to tradition, the construction of the Sanctuary is linked to the apparition of the Madonna to a Vicentine peasant woman during the years of the plague. In these apparitions the Madonna would have asked for the construction of a church dedicated to her. Indeed, the chronicles of the time are in agreement in reporting that, after the Municipality had fulfilled this, that episode of plague ceased.

Then visit one of the most beautiful villas in Vicenza, Villa Valmarana ai Nani. The villa is famous for the extraordinary cycle of frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo (who painted the villa in the period of its maximum artistic splendor) and his son Giandomenico.

During the visit, they will tell you the legend that gave this name to the Villa.

Returning from Monte Berico, a short stop can be foreseen for the external visit of the Villa La Rotonda, the work of Andrea Palladio, visited for centuries by artists and poets.

At the foot of Monte Grappa stands Bassano del Grappa, the fascinating “capital” of the most Italian of spirits.

In the heart of the city, opposite the historic Ponte Vecchio, in the ancient Palazzo delle Teste, is the Poli Grappa Museum. The Poli Grappa Museum in Bassano del Grappa, the result of a long and passionate research, is an act of gratitude by the Poli family towards Grappa.
